FOR ENHANCED LORAN
(eLORAN) SUBMITTED FOR
2009 U.S. BUDGET
A long-delayed decision to
complete implementation of an
enhanced LORAN (Long Range
Navigation) system appears to
have finally been made. eLORAN
will serve, in part, as a
back-up to GPS. This initiative
will switch stewardship of eLORAN
in the U.S. from the U.S. Coast
Guard to the Department of
Homeland Security.
This is
excellent news for those who
believe that there should be a
terrestrial back-up for GNSS,
and it will have a significant
impact worldwide. The UK and
Ireland are already covered by
eLORAN.

technology as part
of our annual
tutorials prior
to ION GNSS Conference
in September

This course is a highly intensive short course on Kalman
filtering and Kalman filtering applications. Emphasis in
the course is on practical applications, but sufficient
