Course 111: Fundamentals of GPS (0.6 CEUs) (Public or On-site)

Description

This is a 1-day course that presents an overview of how the GPS systems works, its historical evolution, its many applications, and its policy and operational considerations. See below for more information about this course. (Note: This course is the same as Day 1 of Course 346 or Day 1 of Course 356. This single-day course is not always available at publicly presented courses. When it is not, we suggest the two-day Course 122, sometimes called Course 123.)

Objectives

To give a comprehensive introduction to GPS and DGPS technology, system concepts, design, operation, implementation and applications.

Prerequisites

None, however, reading GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and other Global Navigation Satellite Systems, by NovAtel, Inc. is strongly recommended.

Who Should Attend?

This course is ideal for those technicians, engineers, managers and technical sales staff with a good electronics apptitude who are new to GPS and need an overview of the basic elements of the Global Positioning System (GPS).

Materials You Will Keep

  •  A color electronic copy of all course notes will be provided on a USB Drive or CD-ROM. Bringing a laptop to this class is highly recommended; power access will be provided. 
  •  A black and white hard copy of the course notes will also be provided.
