LabSat by Racelogic

Powerful, Portable GNSS Simulation from LabSat by Racelogic

Racelogic manufactures electronic systems to measure, record, display, analyze and simulate data from moving vehicles. In 2009, RaceLogic launched LabSat, which offered developers the ability to record, replay, and simulate GNSS RF data. NavtechGPS carries the complete line of LabSat products, including the SatGen software that can be use with LabSat for simulation and specific scenario testing.

Today, LabSat from Racelogic is available in different configurations for single, dual- and triple- constellation replay and recording. Furthermore, with the introduction of  LabSat 3 Wideband in late 2016, engineers and developer can record and replay GNSS signals at up to 56 MHz across ALL constellations for the capture of a wide range of live-sky satellite signals as follows:

GPS: L1 / L2 / L5 GLONASS: L1 / L2 / L3
Galileo: E1 / E1a / E5a / E5b / E6 BeiDou (COMPASS): B1 / B2 / B3
SBAS: WAAS, EGNOS, GAGAN, MSAS, SDCM IRNSS
QZSS: L1 / L2 / L5

LabSat 3 and SatGen
The LabSat GNSS simulator can be bundled with its SatGen software to conduct a wide range of simulation and testing scenarios right from your workbench or office. SatGen software allows developers to create a GPS RF IQ data file, based on a user-generated trajectory, which can be replayed on a LabSat 3 for simulating almost any kind of test, at a set time and date, anywhere in the world.

If you are selling, testing or developing products using single GPS or multi-GNSS engines, incorporating GLONASS, Galileo or BeiDou, then you'll find LabSat GNSS simulator  to be an invaluable tool.

We also carry most LabSat accessories for your convenience.

LabSat Applications

GPS Device and Application Testing. Record real world ‘live sky’ conditions experienced by the device or application. For example, aviation, marine and land conditions can easily be recorded by adding a LabSat to the aircraft, ship or vehicle, and recording the GNSS conditions. The recorded scenario can be replayed again and again. Because you can replicate the GPS signal, your multiple devices, firmware or applications can be continuously tested.
Record signals from augmentation systems: Space Based Augmentation Systems (SBAS), U.S. Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS), the European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service (EGNOS), and the Japanese MSAS system signals alongside the GPS navigation signals. Test your devices ability to use these services without leaving the Laboratory.

LabSat 3 Wideband can record multiple constellations on multiple frequency bands. It is capable of recording the same SBAS signals as LabSat 3, plus the GPS Aided GEO Augmented Navigation (GAGAN) and the Russian System for Differential Corrections and Monitoring (SDCM). In addition to these, LabSat 3 Wideband records commercial differential services such as OmniStar, TerraStar and StarFire, which can increase accuracy to up to 5 cm.

Inertial Navigation Testing. The LabSat 3 Turntable is an effective and affordable GNSS navigation dead reckoning simulator. To overcome the loss of dead reckoning signals, RaceLogic developed a full navigation system testing solution, which consists of a LabSat GNSS simulator, a Video VBOX data logger, a turntable, an inertial measurement and a wheel speed generation unit.

Product and End-of-Line Testing. LabSat Record and Replay allows for repeatable, consistent testing in the laboratory. And once a design goes into production, LabSat can be used in end of line production testing and validation to maintain consistent standards.

Other Applications:
  • Receiver Sensitivity Testing
  • Research and Education
  • GPS and Video Synchronization
  • Leap Second Corrections
